“THE SUM OF MANY”
Sheriff Projects’ Art Lab provided valuable support for the exhibition & screening THE SUM OF MANY by printing a selection of artworks. This project by Daniel Derro Regan and Claudia Rafael was presented at 35-37 rue des Francs-Bourgeois, from May 6th to 7th 2023.
The Sum of Many, is the untold story of Izzet Mafratogu, a Turkish immigrant in Berlin, and his boxing club. A sanctuary for a young group of men and boys who didn’t fit in after immigrating to Germany for a better life. Outsiders in their daily life, they found a family in Izzet’s gym amongst respect and care for one another. Their noses, cheekbones, eyes, and skin tones all resembled that of some type of history of their heritage, and the visible form of their internal struggle to find a sense of belonging. This 5 years long project comes to fruition in a striking documentary and a series of photos shown on a special occasion.
“METAFORM”
Sheriff Projects’ Art Lab provided valuable support to Lena Novello by printing a selection of artworks that she curated for the “Metaform” exhibition. The event took place at the Espace Sylvia Rielle in Paris from March 16th to 29th.
The exhibition challenged the conventional boundary between the physical and the virtual, and showcased the coexistence of tangible and illusory materials, resulting in an array of unique and exquisite art pieces. The show featured the works of several talented artists, namely Anthony Authié, Salomé Chatriot, Hugo Comte, Mu Kepzo, Romain Lenancker and Hugo Richel.
